Maroon Gold Stripe and BTA

My tank (92 gallon corner) has been up & doing well for about 8 months now. First fish in the tank were a pair of gold stripe maroons. Recently, the female has been trying to host the larger of two clams, so we thought to get her an anemone. Bought a smallish BTA, and she wooled the poor thing till I was afraid she'd kill it, so I pulled it from the tank and put it in the Quarantine.
My question, how long will it take this anemone to grow large enough to handle her advances? Currently the anemone is about 3" in diameter, clown is probably 4" long. Anemone seems quite content in the QT tank, eating two pieces of krill every day.
Thanks iin advance for all opinions.

I am by no means an anemone expert. I'm trying kep one alive myself. I don't know how fast they grow but just wanted to say that I have the same problem - my Maroon loves his RBTA to death. I'm currently trying something. It's only been a couple of days but I have a rock with perfect 1 inch hole in it. On the back side I placed a small plastic cup. The anemone seems to love this spot as he is footed in it. He gets light, and if the Maroon gets too rough he can go inside where the Maroon can't. Granted my anemone is very small right now but hopefully he'll get bigger and stronger with time.

We'll see. ???

maroons are extremely hard on their anemones. pairing up a bigger maroon with a small anemone is certainly a death sentence for the anemone.. i would say have the anemone be about 3x the size of the clown hosting it.

Even then there's no guarentee. A friend of mine bought one at least 4x larger, and that darn clown had it dead in 2 days.
