I bought a beautiful pair of wild caught maroons from my LFS yesterday. I could tell by their behavior in the LFS that they were a pair. When I put them in qt last night they appeared to have missed each other during transport because they did their little kiss dance.
Today the males fins are destroyed. I separated him in a clear container with holes drilled. I guess the stress of transport and being placed in a small qt tank with no other fish has caused this but I am worried about the damage already done. The male is breathing very rapidly. Even after being separated for a few hours. Is their anything else that I can do for him?
