It's been about a month since I put two maroons in the same tank with not much difference in size. Here's what's happened so far:
Day 1 and 2: New clown in specimen container in tank. Old clown frantically trying to get at new clown.
Day 3: New clown introduced to tank. Old clown attacks for a few minutes until new clown becomes the attacker.
Day 4 to 14: New clown spends most of the time in the GBTA and won't let old clown anywhere close without a fin nipping.
Day 15 to 25: New clown seems more tolerant and doesn't bother old clown unless he tries to sneak into anemome.
Day 26 to present: Both clowns wallow in the anemone and show no aggression to one another. It's still obvious that the newer clown is slightly dominant.
Have they paired up or just tired of fighting? How will I know?
