Maroons fighting!

Roast

I bought two tank raised Maroons, but lost one to a Bristle Worm! So, after much deliberation I went a head and bought another Maroon. Well, he's been on the run since he's been in the tank. The older one is a bit larger, and female. The new addition was male, as to accommodate the "pairing". Will the female accept the male or will I find another dead Maroon when I go home in the morning?

I've never heard of a bristle worm killing a healthy fish. It is probably more likely that your clown died from another cause and the worm was there for his cleanup duties. I've had a Maroon in the past and had to give it away due to it's aggressive behavior.

Good luck

Maroons can be tough to pair sometimes.
They don't always accept some males for some reason.
I had one kill 2 males before I could even get a net and fish them out(2 seperate occasions)
Since then I ALWAYS intro in a specimen container.
A good eye can spot the difference between a female attacking/wanting to kill, or just being curious on new guy in container.
I'd pull it if fin tears are excessive.
