Maroun 150g Build Thread

Now for some not so happy updates.
Since January I have noticed that many of my corals were not showing the greatest colors, PE or growth. That coincided with a period of hectic travel time as well as being buys with the new house and upgrade... So bascially tank was starting to show signs of neglect.
basic parameters were still maintained all the time with no spikes or drops excpet of nitrates which started climbing. Water changes would have taken care of it or slowed it at least yet I wasn't able to to perform as many Wc as I should have.
so I started getting STN here and there and many colonies were affected. Lost a few but the main ones were still fine till a couple of weeks ago when I could tell they were not happy and were going to STN.
So a radical decision was taken to move all corals to the newly setup Frag tank, It was still new and not cycled properly yet with no fish load and good skimming and bacteria dosing I'm sure it would be better than leaving them in the 150 G
Also with the smaller volume I would be able to offset any spikes with rather smaller water changes.

4-5 loads like this one were needed to move all corals from the 150G tank.

No real events during the move except breaking my Red Planet at it's base. Not really an issue as I was considering moving it to the edge of the rock as it started tabling and shaded corals in front of it. Also the bast started showing some STN so now I ahve a big frag of it with some STN on it and the rest in one piece looking good so far.

This coral grew from less than an inch frag since around 3 years. initial period was ver slow growth till it encrusted and then it always grew at rapid pace.

And on the frag rack hoing it'll be soon fixed on its rock. Looking good so far.

Red mille had many broken branches during the move with some browning which I hoping will resolve in few weeks time.

Frag slowly filling up with plumbing and electrical yet to be finished before I travel. I had to rush the move so I can watch the corals and ttake any needed action before a couple of weeks of travel to be followed hopefully by the wall unit installation and the start of the setup of the 390G tank.

All corals moved and electricals and plumbing temporarily finished.
Still need to use a bigger pump on the SCWD so finally I added a SEIO pushing around 6000LPH and my vortech MP40 reduced to 30-40%

Love the new additions hope they all make it especially with the move.
The Frag tank looks very packed with corals I'm sure water flow is going to be very difficult to manage.
Thats the new 1" SCWD you're running on it? are you happy witht hte flow you're getting from it alone and does it make any difference in the presence of the Vortech on the tank?
Any pics of the tank before tearing it down? how about the fish are they still in the tank?
Can't wait to see everything go in the new tank.

Thanks Fred,
Frag tank is packed with corals and flow was very difficult this is why I resorted to adding the MP40 to the tank.
I am using the 1" SCWD to see if it can deliver good result when the tank is loaded with frags. At this stage I have it fed by a 900GPH pump which is why it's not doing anything in the tank excpet acting as a return line. Should increase the flow to it to 2-3000 GPH to see if that makes a difference.
Won't post the pre take down pics as the tank was really neglected and the rocks and corals were a mess before taking the tank down... Fish are still in the tank and should be taking them out to a hodling system I'm setting up unless the 390 build goes fast then tey go to the new tank directly.
