Mars Aqua 300 W for SPS?

A friend has decided not to set up his reef and go with freshwater. He has offered me his LED fixture for free (if I don't want it he'll just sell it). It is the 32 inch Mars Aqua 300W full spectrum dimmable fixture. I am setting up a 65 gallon reef that will be full sps. Wondering if anybody has any long term success using these lights for their sps reef? I love the freebie but not if it won't work for my reef.

It will work just fine. I have virtually the same fixture sold by a different company and it's been over my 180g mixed LPS/SPS reef for over 30 months. My corals or healthy, colorful and growing as fast as they did under 1000 watts of MH.

And he's giving it to you for free? Nice friend. Buy him something for his freshwater tank as a thankyou!

I gave him a 75 tank and stand originally as I didn't need it.

Just use the Mars Aqua and add a T5 retro to it.

Was thinking along that route but I will need to get creative as I do not have a wooden canopy, just the Mars fixture.
