So, in light of this BOD situation, can someone make available the organizational constitution so that the rest of us can figure out how to proceed? It's pretty unfortunate that someone couldn't remain during this transitional period, but that should not preclude the membership from moving MARS forward.

The remaining MARS BOD members will be meeting and coming up with a solution to the current situation. The club will continue, and we will let everyone know the details. The club by-laws are on the MARS website.

Great to see that you're still around! How silly of me to forget the remaining few. Whew! This makes me a bit.....actually, a lot more relieved to know that you haven't bailed!

The club is (and always has been) governed by this document. I'm not sure who requested that the previous thread be deleted, but it all seems to be out in the open now.

What "BOD situation"? What previous thread? Sheesh... don't monitor the RC board for five minutes and the world goes to hell in a handbasket. I saw something about a resignation and assumed it might have something to do with an unpopular choice for a September speaker, but maybe that's just pure speculation on my part. What's going on?
 
Rich (prez), Marc (VP) and Pam (PR) put there Resignation in from the BOD of the club.

I am not speculating or guessing as to why, It has been done and the club must now pick new replacements.

I have some thoughts as who would be good replacements, but Its up to the remaining BOD to figure out that stuff.

Is the Sept meeting still on?

Whatever the reasons for stepping down, you guys did a great job with a great club. Being a MARS member is what inspired me to push for a club 'a little closer to home' - so I just want to say thanks for making it a good experience for me and a lot of other reefers. I look forward to seeing all of you guys around.

YES! Rich, Marc, & Pam, you all have done an incredible job and service to the club and all members and the associated hobby have benefited.

I believe there is too much deleting going on with this site. Almost like book burning or something... "Can't let anyone know about that..." I feel like I only know a little bit and then it just gets deleted. As far as I can tell there isn't even a meeting for this month anymore. There WAS some thread about the September meeting and speaker, some greif and then oh, here's the Oct and Nov meetings... WTH? At least post a PC informative response than leave a vacuum. Thats fine if thats the way they want to run things here.

Any recommendations on a reef forum that focuses on Reef subjects and not drama?

Come on people it's a reef club not the Oval office. People take things WAY too serious! I have heard several rumors and can only hope they are false, if not I have lost a lot of respect for people I once respected! I know being a BOD member takes a TON of time but as adults I just don't see what all the BS'ing is about! I know peoples feelings were hurt and uncalled for IMO.

I am not able to make as many meetings as I would like to with my long commute but always looked forward to chatting with a few folks and those people seem to be gone! The club went from a empty meeting place when I joined some 5+ years ago to a jammed packed room every meeting! It's a shame people let there personal opinions cloud there judgement!

OK I'm done on my soapbox. Looks like NVR or BAR will have a new member!
 
An official communication will be coming out soon. But right now - the September meeting will still occur. We are still trying to line up a topic for the meeting. And the frag swap will still occur but will occur on the Oct 14th.

Personally - I'd like to thank both Pam and Rich for all they have done for this club.

I would also like to thank Rich, Marc, & Pam for all the time and effort that they have put into the club. You have given so much to the club and what ever may have transpired, I think you are a great gourp of people and pray you will still be part of club.

Amen!

I would like to add though, its amazing what can be forgiven and forgotten over a case of beer. It's also easy to forget how much this heat can really bring out the worst in all of us. It's been a stressfull summer on alot of us here to which I am definately no exception. If we are forced as a club to lose some of the best of our best, let's make damn sure we at least hold on to our friendships. This club is too damn cool for school for one reason.And that's the people in it. God bless.

Hey guys,
BAR has a meeting on October 14th, and it looks like Steve Tyree will be our speaker. Traditionally, the area clubs have worked hard not to step on each others toes meeting/swap wise, so please let me know if that consideration has changed. :D
