MARS swap meet anytime soon?

Hey MARS peeps! Have you guys discussed a frag swap for anytime soon? My the owner of the store I work at in Redding is planning to put together a small frag swap in the store, and in the process of planning a date it came to our attention that MARS usually has one comming up.
So I will keep working on the little details of the swap, and wait until I hear a date for yours before I set a date for ours, hopefully some of you will want to come up here for a little swap.

That is a very good question... I have not heard anything from the club board members regarding any swap. I for one would be pretty jazzed about the idea of seeing what our northern brethren are up to. The last one put on by BAR was pretty outrageous!

Last year, MARS did not have a swap due to quite a few things going on - including the WMC. However, in the past, the MARS frag swap has been held in October. A few meetings ago, I think Brian or Bruce did have a little discussion about the swap and what the members wanted. They were open to a full on swap, a mini-MARS only swap, a softie swap, and so on. I don't recall any decisions were made at the meeting.

Last Board meeting we were talking about this very issue.
It looks like long time member Pam wants to have another one at her house.

NOTHING is set in stone yet, but yes we are talking about a frag swap around October-ish. If Pam decides not to have one or is too busy, the board will assemble a panel to put a frag swap on for the club.

I kicked around the idea with Pam about another Swap, but it would likely be a Regional Frag Swap like last years. I don't think it would be a MARS Swap.

Did any of the board try to contact her directly?

You all dont know how lucky youd be to have it over at Pam's house. Very open layout, with room for all. Fabulous hostess, with a tank worth writing home to mom about! I hope it works out .I for one would definately be an atendee :)

nice video, thanks for posting it. If Mars has a swap I hope we can make it. If you guys get a chance to beat the idea around and decide on a date I would like to know about it.

We are trying to piece this swap together up here with a bunch of amatuers , so no telling how good it will be, but it's a live and learn hobby right?

Was i at the last one?:)

Was it the one at the Italian resturant in Elk Grove?

That was the informal swap that wasnt club sponsored. Rallied by Karl and enjoyed by members and local enthusiasts.

That'd be pretty cool to have it at Pams if she's interested in it. Great tank, great hostess, great place.

To all that have said such nice things about the swaps here, thanks.

I would be interested in having a swap (in Dixon) sometime in Oct. if none of the area reef clubs are interested in having one. I think they are a great way for everyone to meet and talk reefs and obtain some nice corals. I will figure out a date, but start fragging now so things heal and encrust. Pam
