Hi Ed,

As someone who is relatively new to SW, and new to the MARS group (just got my membership). This sounds like an excellent way to meet other MARS members and a way to learn tips and tricks in the process. You have my support.

Regards,

Michael

As a new member I will volunteer my house and my 2 tanks for everyone's viewing pleasure. I'm in Elk Grove, so maybe my place can be the starting or ending place. We can BBQ if everyone likes.

I have a 92 gallon corner mixed reef (home of the monster pink/orange yuma) and a 10 gallon nano

That's my next question. Would you guy's be will to drive all over gods green earth to check out some tanks?

Should we split it into 2 weekends?

1-Roseville,Rocklin,Granite Bay,Citrus Heights Ect (Meet @ YR end @ Aqua Life)

2-Sacto,Rancho,EG,Ect. (Start @ Aqua Werkz end @ Exotic)

just a few ideas lets brain storm.

Thanks
Ed

if anybody wants they can come through and check out my little tanks (180 reef and a 50 reef). i'm over in near elk grove.

I know I would love to see everyone's tanks. I live probably too far out for a visit to my house, but am more than willing to make the drive to meet everyone and see their setups.
Count me in :)

So we should compile a list of people that want to open their doors to gawkers and people that want to gawk. Then we'll try to set up regional tours on separate weekends.

Count me in on the Roseville Tour..
I'm only like 4 mins away from YR.

Plus when people get bored with my tanks, they can play on the arcade till it's time to go to the next house..

I also have an 8 passenger van that could car pool people around on the tour.

Count me in on both lists. I would have to carpool most likely, or take my wife and 2 kids with me. My tank is pretty new still so not much to look at, but I would like advice and ideas. So, count me in to gawk and be gawked upon. :D

Yall can come over and see my gaggle of tanks. Just have to give me some advance warning so I can scrape the front glass in all of them. That takes the better part of a day for me. Elk Grove blvd and Franklin.

Great response so far! Does everyone like the idea of having the tour split up? I makes sense to me, and I figure that way we don't have to rush though each house on the tour. Petes97, the BBQ at the end sounds fun as well.

I live in Woodland, and just got started on my 29g tank (~3months), so I don't know if it's really worthy of being part of the tour, but I'll put it out there as a possibility if there are other tanks in the area and folks want to drop by.

I like the idea of different areas on different weekends. I'd like to see them spread out though, not one weekend right after another. Maybe one area per month?

Way to go ed, opening the can of worms! lol. There isnt much to see, but my doors are open. Id like to see a few tanks in the area. Pete, im in for the BBQ. If not at your house, the park across the street would a great place also, incase more people end up jumping aboard.

I would be happy with you guys just posting updates more often of your tanks in threads.........though I want to see your tanks, gas is expensive and I am lazy on the weekends.

Makes the forum more "colorful" IMO. "Show me your ..." threads could be fun too if your interested in one type say......

But in now means am knocking your idea or trying to side track.......I would like to see more of those and could be a simpler way to see each other setups......ie: more participation.

That way I know who to hit up for stuff!!!:D

Sounds cool

Sounds cool

I was at ed's and his tank is worth hours viewing time. I'm sure there are lots of tanks and people worth seeing. Count me and my wife in on the tour, my tank is not even close to ready by I can BBQ like a pro with the smoker. Just an idea but what about something like 2 house per weekend and then just rotate it out , that way everyone gets more viewing time at each house. I've got a 180lb dog that loves to meet people LOL.

I was thinking 1 hour per house 3 houses per region

Maybe Meet @ Steve's @ 10 ish check out his tanks for an hour load up in his van and cruse to my house for an hour than off to Matt Taylor's for an hour so maybe 4 hours total.

What do you guys think?

Thanks
Ed
