Do you like the look. What would you change?

I've noticed that the logo looks a little choppy (aliased) on some screens but fine on others. Anyone have any idea why?

Does anyone know the name of the MARS member who has DotNetNuke coding experience?

I like it.

I like the fish. I would use a sexier font for the MARS and move the full name in the yellow bar under it. Perhaps a tagline about our club's mission.

In my opinion the site is a little "loud". I'd prefer a more subdued color scheme, but that's my own opinion. It is however very user friendly and easy to navigate.

I'm confused about the calendar. How do you check ahead to see what's scheduled for coming months?

Where is the Member sign in section?

The upper right hand corner always display either the word Login when you are not logged in (signed in). Click on the work Login to login.

The calendar always displays the next and previous month in the upper right and left corners. Just click on the next or previous month to go foward or backward one month.

TIP: The mouse cursor will change to a hand when it over something you can click on.

I have to second(third?) the color scheme being a bit loud and assaulting on the senses (particularly the yellow and blue combos). At work on an a cheap Dell system the logo looks a bit choppy with a white shadow around the lettering. Have you tried using jpg? I typically find the graphics will come out more universal that way, but the file sizes could be a little larger.

At any rate, good to see progress!

Just give me white ASCI text on a black background and I will be happy, so I may not be the best judge of this.

The colors do not bother me, but in the download section I think the documents should be separated from the images. Perhaps having a club business folder and a DIY documents folder would be helpful. Perhaps when one clicks on the download link they could get a view of the top level directory tree rather than the club business documents.

I toned the color scheme down a bit...

Thinner navy blue borders
Gradient yellow text box bars instead of solid yellow
Gray backgrounds on secondary text boxes instead of ocean blue (cyan)

I'm with you. That's why the organization and features came first, visuals last. I do have to admit that I had fun with the visuals.

Truthfully, I like the aesthetics/layout of the last site. Good functionality though.

No offense to the obvious time and effort that was put into the new sight, but I have to agree with Wee-Reef. The other sight was more intuitive, there were obvious issues as far as not being updated and links innactive. But it was more accessible to the passerby to gain a 20 sec first impression of what we are about and if he/she would like to participate. The new sight has much more potential to grow and be systematically maintained it seems, but I do miss the links and our metaphorical mascot circling the earth in the stars as left wing as it was it helped incorporate common first impressions when we hear the word MARS

Hey Justin


A couple of people, including you, have commented that the mission statement should be more prevelant. I'm working on that.

The problem with the MARS Universe logo is that it doesn't reduce well because it is too complicated. Also, the large number of colors makes it expensive to reproduce. In defense of the original artist, it was designed for the WMC 2003 literature, not as the MARS logo.

I agree the previous website visuals were very nice. Unfortunately, it was based on a technology that required programmers to modify. The new website is based on a technology that is designed to run clubs like MARS. I believe the infrastucture has to come first. I am doing my best to make the visuals better.

MARS doesn't have an official color scheme. The color scheme you see now is yellow and teale.

I should be able to turn anything you come up with into a DotNetNuke 4 skin.
