[Rip Current]

I'm have couple problems with this pump.

one, its still loud even after changing the pump cover you sent me .

two, when I turn the pump on (after a water change ect.) it starts and stops about 4 or 5 times befor it start pumping.
which might be the way I have it plumbed.

coming out of the pump is 1 1/2 spaflex 7 ' long 6' hight to a 22 deg. wye ( 1 1/2 in and 2 1" out ) each 1"ine goes 15" to a 1" seaswirl.

The intake of the pump is 1 1/2 bulkhead to 1 1/2 spaflex to 1 1/2 female adapter.

In general the response to the new cover has been very positive, the few people who received them seem pleased now. It is possible the plumbing is such that air is trapped in the pump or perhaps the shaft was damaged when you replaced the cover.

The start and stop is normal, this basic model electronic pump has a unidirectional impeller and a very simple system to get the impeller spinning the right way- turn off and on until it does.

This pump is alittle louder than an iwaki 100.

I am sorry but I don't have any system of a size that warrants the use of external pumps so I cannot say from experience. If you would like to send it in I can check for any damage or wear to any of the pieces. I know the pump will indeed make some noise but I cannot say anything in terms of comparison beyond the feed back I have recieved.

I found the problem, broken shaft!
Must of broke when I reassembled the pump after changing the cover.
