Master Recirculation Pump?

How come I don't see anyone using these for recirculation pumps? They seem comparable to the Eheims... Is it quite like all other Tunze I read about? How is flow adjusted?

The 1073.03? We sell quite a few of them, so someone has to be using them. They have a simple mechanical valve to regulate flow. The wattage drops as the flow is dropped, just because the pump needs less energy to run, the same happens if you put your hand over the outlet on any pump. The outlet is 3/4" NPT so it is easy to plumb up on a US tank with PVC. As far as the noise, the first ones could be kind of loud, this was a faulty bushing, so if you read such a review refer the person to me and we will get it taken care of. I think they are fairly quiet but honestly an Eheim is probably slightly quieter, the main thing we beat them on is it is smaller and uses less power to pump the same amount of water.

Roger, is that the model that turns on and off until it senses the impellar is turning in the right direction? Or is that the model with the electronics that ensures it starts up the right direction from the get go?

1073.03 is just a simple pump with no electronics. The 1073.09, .14 and .16 are the much larger versions that have electronics.
