Mate for C. interrupta

the angels got to Honolulu just about 2 hours ago...waiting to hear from Karen...
some pics of Jon from house of Fins helping with the bagging...

Humaguy's fish arrived well, are acclimating now and look great. The jock is just the right size, a little smaller than Jaws and lovely, so I think we'll have a good match. The flamebacks are also beautiful and look like a nice pair.

Thanks to HOF for helping with the packing and I love that middle photo of your dog watching the process. He looks so interested I'll bet he'll pack for you the next time any of your fish travel!

I'll keep you all posted as the fish settle in and are introduced to each other.

lol, she was fascinated by the sound of the O2...she really wanted to jump in head to you but once I explained the qt process she jumped out of the box....:lmao:

All of the new arrivals are doing great.:bounce3:

I plan on introducing Jaws and his new girlfriend to each other on Friday and hopefully that will go well. Everyone cross your fingers and fins! The jocs and the flameback pair will be moved into a tank together to finish out their quarantine and if they all get along that will be their long term home until they out grow it. So I hope to get video on Friday of the two pairs living happily together to share with you.

We've got another week and a half before Fabio and Faith are introduced to each other and this has certainly been a lesson in patience for me and I'm sure for many of you too. We're almost there!

Out of curiosity, with the fish that you know where they came from, such as the flamebacks that came from Ted, do you really need to quarantine them again when you know he has a great quarantine regimen?
I am by no means saying that you are doing something wrong, it is just curiosity

The fish that came from Ted and Mike and Nicole are obviously well taken care of and it shows in their physical and mental attitude. I am a conservative person when it comes to quarantine with a better safe than sorry way of thinking. So the fish that came from great homes are going through my "regular" quarantine protocol which is the formalin baths and then they can move into their new home tank where they will be treated with prazipro. That is the protocol I use with every fish no matter where they come from and it really only takes a week of being in the Q tank before they move into a regular tank. Jaws has been waiting in a regular aquarium after his formalin dips were completed so that both jocs and the flame backs can be introduced into their new tank at the same time which I find helps them all to get along.
If I did not quarantine new fish I would be a nervous wreck always checking them and worrying about them. :worried: If something were to come in on a fish that I did not quarantine it would be more difficult for the fish to have to go through a treatment. So to make it easier on all of us I do a quarantine no matter what. A little stress for a week is better than a bunch of stress down the road! :)

excellent!
lol, what we really need is a camfeed on the tanks...:lmao:
this is so exciting!!

Karin, a word of warning: Jaws lived with our flame-rusty hybrid angel for 9 months, they both went into our 205g at the same time (the day Hurricane Sandy hit NJ. Literally.), and he never really stopped chasing her. He never damaged her fins, but he did like to chase.
Just be careful when you introduce him to the flamebacks, I don't want him to beat them up and he can be an aggressive little guy.

Thanks for the heads up!
I'll keep an eye on them and I have another tank open if I have to move anybody who doesn't play well with others.:hmm2:
