Mateo's 45Gallon CuBe Build

New sump!

New sump!

Ok, so the new skimmer called for a new custom sump, mainly because it won't fit in the 10 gallon that's down there now... but also, can't have a bad A$$ tank with out a custom sump.... Gonna wait for it to dry, and water test it tomorrow...

Picked up my glass yesterday, i found out later its not cut as straight as id like it but I made due...

It started with one piece
then added the baffles on top, I decide to do the baffles this way because I hate trying to squeeze my had in to silicone them.

In Goes the middle baffle for the bubble trap

then on top, or shall say the side, of the baffles goes the middle divider... doing it this way made it way easy to get nice joints and not fuss trying to squeeze in silicone.

Then I cut out the overflow to the return pump area...

I then added the side and divider for the ATO reservoir, and the return pump.

Then on goes the front and back.

TOP VIEW and Skimmer test fit..

I went to Home Depot and they were out of fricking masking tape. Know I know why lol.

Just kidding bro I am impressed with the skills.

Sumps in!!

Sumps in!!

Put the sump in last night, made some changes since I broke a piece of glass :headwallblue: so instead of an ATO reservoir, I used that room for a larger return area, and put in two spots to slide in some filter floss holders made of egg crate. going a different direction with my ATO. everything fits perfect.

SURPRISED!! Only after a few min of running I looked at my skimmer and saw THIS!

thanks, Just installed LED's for the huge, and a new pump and took out the SCWD, so that's up for sale if anyone wants it, $40 OBO, it is SUPPER Quiet now, I just need to raise the water level in the return area to make it ULTRA quiet, then there will nothing but the slight humm of the sweet sweet skimmer.
