Mating clowns eating the anem !

I have a fairly large bta that covers most of its rock that is hosted by a pair of spotcinctus clowns. They are laying eggs on the open side of the rock where the nem only has tentacle activity and to clean it, they bite off any long tentacles that sweep around there in the current . After a few layings, the nem and only little short stubby tentacles left on that side of its body due to being bitten off. Is this normal behavior ? Also it still opens and they still jump into it but from long flowing tentacles to short little ones is very discouraging :(

Its normal. Are they fairly new at laying eggs. From what I can tell they don't do it all the time, but my nem has never suffered. I have been told that they are not actually biting the tips off but rather sucking on them to either shrink the tentacles or suck the toxin out. Not sure what to believe though.
