Great thread!
Love the details.
I have a LM3 for top off. I just got it.
I can't wait to see your water exchange details... Good luck!

yeah im hoping for the best...so far so good, i got word from james at envision acrylics that they will start on my tank tuesday at the latest and it will be at my house by around the 19th

I'm even more excited because next week i will have my shipment of Marco Rocks here, it is semi-dry fiji and tonga rock but look at the size of these pieces...all of which were cherry picked for me

7 pieces of LR totalling 112 lbs dry, now when its full cycled and wet it will weigh in at over 220 lbs so i would say im perfect on the rock, the aquascaping will be made using threaded nylon rod, nylon washers, and nylon nuts the rock will be bolted together but the nylon rod will not be seen, this will help me achieve my large overhangs and caves im trying to create

Great start Matt! I love cube and penninsula tanks. My wife is pushing for a cube in the next house.

The rock looks awsome, who are you getting it from?

sweet looking great. what did the water exchange module cost you i have a litermeter 111 as well tank is not done yet so sorry can not help you with how to set it up yet.

its real easy to setup, all you have to do is have a dedicated remote pump with the water exchange module and it will just be programmed from there for a set amount of water taken out, and a set amoutn of water put back in

it cost me 170 for the exchange module and if you dont have a remote pump that cost me another 140

ooo and im sorry i bought the rocks from Marco Rocks, the rocks were all cherry picked by myself through pics that Marc sent me and then from there i picked them and ordered them, great guy, answered all of my questions, and so far from what I've seen and paid for it, i got 112 lbs shipped for $442 that its going to be awesome for aquascaping and much better then pure live rock

well guys i got all of the stuff for the rock today including the nylon threaded rods and all of that hardware, i hope to start on the aquascaping this weekend with a piece of plywood that is cut to the dimensions of the tank, i think the 7 large pieces i have will be more then enough

anyone that is looking at getting rock for a large tank without a doubt at least try and contact Marco Rocks and talk to Mark, he has been great with customer service and getting me the rock i wanted

dont know if i mentioned it but the tank will be here the 19th so i will be getting it that day and i will be starting on the stand this weekend as well, does anyone think that wood wont be strong enough? I can make it out of bar stock without a problem but wood, would be much easier for me to work with

Wood would be fine to hold it up if its built right. After all they are still building houses out of wood. ;) The only limitation would be the space underneath the tank, which might not be a problem if you have a dedicated room ect.

pretty much the only thing that i will have under the stand would be the DC8 from the ACIII to be in charge of the lights and power to the vortechs so space isnt too much of a priority to me

i got word today from salty critter that the rest of my stuff should be here tomorrow and the tank should be in my hands the 19th, im going to be ordering the stuff for my metal halide 6500K spotlights tomorrow and they should be done within two weeks, these will be perfect and i will end up getting a very bright very intense spread of about 12-18" with each one and these will be used on the SPS rock to get the growth im looking for
