I have had this clam for about 4 months. The last week or so, it has not been coming out much. Its open, but not extended. It its not very reactive to changes in light.

My water param are sg 1.024, temp 79-80, dkh 8, ph 7.9 calcium 420, mag 1250 no phos, nitrates etc. Water chemistry has been very stable for several months since I started dosing 2 part. I also feed DT about once a week.

The shell looks like its trying to open further. I know the pic is not that good, but any ideas? It has been mid tank under t-5 lighting. I moved it to the bottom Friday, to see if that would change anything. No difference.

I do have a flame and coral beauty angel, could this be a reaction to being picked at? I will cover it tonight.

Thanks for any assistance.

Update, I covered the clam last night with a perforated plastic container that they angels can't get into and he does not look any better.

Any other possibilities?

i wouldn't pardon the angels just yet, it may just be to late for the little guy. :(

what other fish / inverts do you have??

any chance of picture of the clams mantle??

I really can't get any pics of it because its so far recessed.

The angel made a liar out of me. I found him swimming inside my"angel" proof container!

I put it in a plastic container, covered with bridal vail and moved it higher up in the tank. If that does not help, I guess its just to late :(

Do I need to put holes in the container for circulation, or is the "open top" enough?

Thanks,
Julie
