Hello just wondering if anyone here has experience with the Sure Flow Maxi Jet 1200 mod.... Are they noisy, Will they work with a wavemaker.... looking to try a different powerhead since the Hydor Korilias dont work with a wavemaker... Any Info/Suggestions.... Thank you, Jason

I just lost my 2 year old copper banded butterfly to one, The suction is really powerful...so is the output.

After loosing him I still kept the mod in the tank though. :( crossing my fingers I don't suck up another awesome fish

from my understanding if you get more than a year with the mod you are lucky. they usually burn the motors up at some point of time.

I think they are great as long as you match up the correct pump with the correct impellor, an dlet them break in. I have had great luck with mine after the break in period.

Thank you for all the feed back, I think im gonna go for it... The tunze style pump are they similar to the hydor korilias??

i ran the 1200's with the black prop. (the smaller one) with no problems (noise, spinning wrong direction, locking up)

The white props gave me all the above problems.

after about 9 months usage i added 2 Tunze 6101's to replace some of the mods.

I vote good.

I had 2 setups and with the black prop on the 900 I had no noise problems but the larger white prop and 1200 it took some time to get it set and if I turned it off it sometimes took a few restarts to get it going again. When running without noise they are great and can move some water in with a decent array. The problem is that the shafts in both rusted and broke then I elected for a vortech and couldn't be more happy. I did read that people were replacing the stock shaft with titanium ones with good success.
