maxi jet modifications

It is based on the maxijet you have. If you use one of the models made for the 1200 on the 600, the 600 will have startup prolems. I believe they are identical in design, but the propellers are different sizes depending on the pump model.

I'm having problems at reefdom.com too. Seems like a good mod, nice and clean and comes with the modded holder, but I can't check out. lol

I am also running one of the early mods from reefdom, and have been for almost a year. very nice workmanship, and I have never hasd any problems with it.

I tried ordering from them as well and the site could not process it. I guess it was Scott who said he was gonna call me, but he never did. I would prefer his mod, but I guess I will have to get the other one.

What would you guys recommend for a 55g? I do have a DSB, so nothing too crazy.

Would 1 modded 600 + about 200 gph flow from my sump return be enough?

Was thinking of aiming it length wise across the tank....

IMO, one 600 mod with the return flow is fine for a 55 mixed reef. I would go with 2 mods for and SPS only tank though.

I've been running on of Reefdom's 900 mods for about 5 months now and it works great. I keep thinking about making my own but their craftsmanship is so nice.... they CNC mill everything, right down to the dovetail holders.
