maxi minis and mandarins...

So I keep reading about horror stories where maxi-minis end up eating mandarins.... I have a mandarin, and I'll pass on the maxi-mini if it really would eat the mandarin, but I can't help but wonder if the mandarin eating maxi-mini is due to weakness in the mandarin because of starvation, or not... my mandarin is healthy and plump. Would a maxi-mini eat my mandarin?

I think they get eaten because they get stung/stuck to the anemone ,mandarins aren't vary strong compared to something like a clownfish. But if you have a full grown mandarin you might be ok.
But I am not expert.

i won't own another mini maxi. i went through 3 different gobies in my tank before i saw the third one get caught by the mini maxi.
it was a small diamond goby, he landed a little to close and it was game over.
any anemone is dangerous to have around fish unless you have clownfish.
the mini maxi's are carpets and carpets tend to be the most lethal of anemones in being sticky and having very strong stinging cells.
