I really don't think the motors are the same. For example the MJ400 and MJ900 are definitely not the same.

Put a MJ900 impeller into a MJ400 motor and see... They are not the same.

The MJ600 and MJ900 the same motor... Possibly.

I have modded and tested these pumps long enough to know this.

If you weight the pumps without the impellers or covers with a sensitive scale, you should be able to tell.

Perhaps measure the resistance at the prongs on the cord.

I'd love to know this. I have a mix of 900s and 600s in my tank, and I have one of these mod kits on the way. Should arrive today. Of course, I also have a Koralia 3 and a Koralia 4 arriving today.

D the length of the impeller is 3.75" and the impeller is 1.5" wide. The case it is in is 2" wide and 1.75" long. It looks like a tough mod to do as far as swaping out the impeller i ordered. Not sure if i'll try it or not. How wide is the dumas prop?

I tried this mod kit tonight with one of my MJ600s. I also just installed a Koralia 3 and a Koralia 4. The mod kit feels like it is out flowing the Koralia 4. No matter where I put it, it was blowing my sand around like crazy. I decided that it was a bit too much for my 46 gallon tank. I don't think I'll be using it.

The pump may not have been out flowing the Koralia, but it felt like it was because the flow was much more directional than the Koralia was. The Koralia flow is really diffuse.

Any of them. The smallest is 60lbs force. I'm guessing you saw the sold out on the one you wanted ; ) I have a couple that ll be here in the next few days and there the small round one's and i have 1/2" glass 125g.

Yeah, I was thinking those might be a little safer on the strength side. I'll have to see how well yours hold up, or I might go ahead and try out those square ones from the other link.

Well give it about a week. Thats how long it'll take to get em and the superglue to set. I'm still not satisfied with the flow, its less than the hydor 4 imo, no matter who says otherwise. I have both.

Simple question that I have are you all using this on a wave maker. And what powerheads can be used on a powerhead aside fromthe maxi jet

The magnets work great D sugested. They are very strong, the strongest mags i've ever seen. And i got the small round ones!

No, got the 60lbs, there way plenty for 1/2" glass on my 125g. I definately won't let my 3yr old play with them. They would literally blow up a finger. Very impressed.

sureflow

sureflow

I just bought a 1600 kit tuesday and have to say it's impressive.
I got it with a maxi900 and it blows my nano 6045 away.
I actually had to shut my nano off because the two of them together is too much for my 75 reef.(along with return pump)
I actually can't decide which to keep ,the sureflow or nano.
The sureflow is stronger built than the tunze and I don't have to worry about snapping clamps like the tunze.
But it is so much flow that if I don't keep it at least 5 inches from the water surface it creates a suction.Even with the wide part of the shroud at the top.
definately nice for the price
