smallest interval depends on how you can handle the startup noise if/when the prop spins in reverse and needs to correct itself.

Personally I wouldn't use a controller at all as I see no real need for one but if you must, anything shorter than 15 minute interval is useless for flow IMO.

I've used both methods and in my own experience, I get much better pollups extension with the wave maker like the Tunze. Without the wave maker one keep having to mess with the different angles and such to hit all the right spots and that can be iffy, it does work but never as good as the slow down and speed up method that the tunze uses and Seio tries to duplicate.

That also depends on your rockwork IME

My tank has a lot of open space and very little rock so there is no problems getting lots of flow all around. Infact PE has never been better since I went to BB and reaquascaped

nice looking tank, what size is that? 125?

i like the minimal rock and open space,

Dhnguyen, your rock works is totally different from mine  I think we are at different end of the spectrum, thats why I need more flows, currently I have 2 tunze 6101 and 1 sureflow with the new prop.

 northbay-reefer -- I couldn't agree more

I planned mine with more open space so that when the SPS matured (like yours) there would be more corals than rocks plus it would be much easier to get decent flow throughout. Also being BB it's kinda crucial that I shouldn't have too much LR anyway. Very nice tank though.

Dhnguyen, I do like the way you have yours though, eventually it will looks like a piece of art ... you will need to have something thats long and lanky like my tan stag with blue tips in front of the yellow tang there :D :D and maybe some nice capricornis (I have 11 different ones :D )... I will have to set you up

Yeah the tort will be nice on top since its light hungry. my torts are ORA(fast grower) and Oregon (slow grower) but nice

I counted them the other day and I can't belive I have 11  alot of them ate the LE stuff, but my fav one is the sour apple green one and the non LE blue pollups grean caps

like this one sour apple

Oregon isn't that the super blue one that everyone is raving about?

Yeah, its a very slow grower so its hard to find, but I have connections :D

Damn dude you've got some nice stuff in that tank. Some day mine will fill up like yours I hope.

It will just be patience. Next year your tank will be booming with stuff, all You need now are frags. If you are ever in the wine country area, drop by and I'll set you up with some frags.
