maxijet w/mod vs seio powerheads

Hi!
Just wondering out of the maxijet w/mod and the seio, what powerheads are better?
I have seen a couple of posts about maxujets being noisy, thats why i am asking before i buy anything.
Looking to use them for more flow in a 210 reef
Thanks!

MJmod is hands down the best in this comparison. You just have to build them correctly.

Seios have good flow, but consume more watts and are a pain in the rear to restart.

seios are fine--the only problems seem to be the 620. If you are doing the mod yourself it might save you some money, but if you are going to buy the mod just go with the seio (They have great flow and I have never had a problem with my 820s)

Why stay away from the 620s? I was going to get 2 for my 55g. Are two 820s too much for a 55g. If they are better I'll get those.

How do you do the MJ mod? What is it really?

A Maxijet running a dumaas 3004 produces around the same amount of flow as a SEIO2600, and is smaller than a SEIO 820. It also uses less electricity than a SEIO 820.

To the person below, in a 55, I'd go with a pair of 1100s, or 1500s.

The 620s are 620gph coming out of a 1.5" outlet. You wont even notice them. THats the same velocity as 310gph coming out of a 1" pipe, or 150gph coming out of a 3/4" pipe.

Thanks!
I was just going to buy the mod, dont feel like messing with making my own.
It does note on marinedepot that the seio's are not for wavemaker use, is that why they lock up? cause they are on wavemakers?
what do you guys recommend for my 210?

Since they have restart problems its best not to use them on a wavemaker.

I have 2 820s that are incredibly difficult to restart each time.

guess what they both suck butt. nano streams=the ish

for a tank your size you need the tunze for sure 210 gallon is a big tank 620 will not do anything for sofy flow 4 nano stream 6025 3 6045 or 2 6055 with a multicontroller

do you know what it costs to take care of fish in a 200+ gallon system it is something for someone who has mad cash the total price of 4 6025 is only 240 dollars and the flow would be sick the price of running them is lower than the seio as well and no chance of it blowing up and killing y our whole tank dont act like it doesnt happen i banished all my rio pumps

I see the 6025nanstream, but dont see the others you listed on marinedepot?

This is what they have listed.
TZ1313 Tunze Turbelle® Stream 6060
TZ1315 Tunze Turbelle® Stream 6080
TZ1311 Tunze Turbelle® Stream 6000
TZ1317 Tunze Turbelle® Stream 6100
TZ1319 Tunze Turbelle® Stream 6200

LOL! Yes, I know what it costs, My tank is a 210.]

so would 2 of the Turbelle ® Stream 6060 :
Output: 6000 l/h; 1600 gal/h on each side of the tank be good or would 1 be enough?
If not how much gph on each side?

the 6045 and 6055 are not out yet they are all nano streams they come with a very good magnet holder and they are great for directing flow anywhere in the tank i just ordered my second one and they are great pumps i have one 6025 on my 50 gal 36x18x18 and im adding another tommorow only the 6055 will work with the controller that will go beetweeen 400 and 1400 gph and will be 205 dollars the 6025 is only 62 dollars with the magnet i think its a deal
salty critter just got a shipment in today

???

1 Maximod will cost you $40, and produce more flow than all those 6025s, and cost a lot less to run.

Have you run a Maximod GSMguy? Because if you havent, you really shouldnt comment on them. I've run both them, and tunzes, and honestly, tunzes aren't anything special. Theyre not even that efficient. They've just never had competition before. At this point, theyre the least efficient of the prop pumps, behind the Maximods, Vortechs, and Hydor Koralias.

They make a nice product, but the only thing keeping them in the market is the elitist attitude that their marketing seems to be so good at fostering.

And honestly, the rio/seio comparison isnt valid. I think the next time SEIOs are brought up, and someone says RIOs melt, I'm going to put them on my ignore list. It just totally invalidates everything else you say. Its like saying "I'll never buy a corvette because the Saturn Ion has weak brakes"
