Maxima Clam Care Help Please

Hi all, would you happen to know if there are any online sites for reef clam care. I was given a Vanuatu Maxima today and it is my first clam so I want to learn all I can in a short period of time. It is a small calm, maybe 3 1/2 inches in length and I have it perched on a ledge. It is not directly under a light but is is about 3 inches to the left of being directly under it. Is this ok? Also, I didn't stick it down with epoxy as I would with an SPS frag, is this correct? And, how long will it take to attach to the rock on its own? How long will it take for it to get comfortable and open fully? It may be open all the way now, I just don't have anything else to compare it to. Sorry for all the questions. I am very adept with coral care but know nothing about clams.

I am currently running an SPS dominated reef with 2 x 150 watt halides @ 20k. Water quality is perfect.

good thing you didnt epoxy that down...my crocea attached to the rocks it was on in about a day it was closed for about 1/2 a day then it was fine!

looks good to me +1 on the epoxy very bad idea as for care if you keep sps you are already doing enough may benefit from the addition of filter feeder food or live phyto as for reading try
