maxima clam - shifting/moving/loose

We have had our Maxima a little over a month. We put it on a rock in the substrate when we first got it - it attached the first week. Slowly we moved it up, a few inches a week. Now its in the middle of the tank and where we would like to keep it. however, its now loose on the rock. It twitches from time to time moving 1/2" either way (like a rocking motion). It hasn't fallen over yet. Is this twitching normal? is it unhappy higher in the DT. We have T5 - 6X54 lighting and thought a clam should be closer to the top of the water level, yet if its unhappy there then should it go back to bottom?

Thanks

Usually when the maxima jumps around like that they arnt really happy with the spot. You could have left the clam where he was i really dont think that would have hurt him at all. You can wait alittle and see if he attaches himself where you have him now.

thanks for confirming.... We moved it back down to where it was NOT fidgeting. Our only concern is not enough light. Everything we have read stats clams can be kept under T5 lighting, just keep it higher in the DT.

Thanks
