maxima feeding question

Was considering a small maxima (under three inches) for a 26 bow with 300 watts of de 20k. I am running a sump with about 13 gallons of water, an asm g-2 and some chaeto in there. How should i approach the feeding of a clam in my system?

Clams under 3" need to be fed phytoplankton. They cannot get all of their food requirements from the algae in their mantle when they are that small.

You can feed them in a bowl outside of the tank or use the top of a 2 liter bottle placed over the clam in the tank (squirt the phyto in, screw the cap on and wait).

Live phytoplankon is the best (like DTs).

It can be difficult to raise small clams. IMO it is not recommended for novice clam keepers and can have high mortality rates. Buy one bigger than 3" for better success.
