Maxima Problem

I woke up this morning with my clam on the sand, DARN turbos knocking everything around! :)

However, I noticed a nassarius snails eating at my Maxima's byssal threads. It looks like it is barely hanging on now.

Is this going to grow back? Will this effect my clam's health?

I have a smaller clam maybe 3'' or so. I am starting to dose phyto every other night. I hear they are more filter feeders when this small, rather than relying on photosynthesis.

Thanks guys!

Brad

I have a pic somewhere in here. I shook the snail off this morning.

Everything looks fine, mantel all intact and bright blue, and open....

Hey Skinz,

Here are some pics, sorry for my crappy camera.

He is on top of my rockwork about 18'' away from my halides.... I acclimated him properly to the light.

Will the byssal grow back? Or does he have more than one?

Thanks

Brad

didn't know the turbo snails would do that to the clams... This is good to know. as when my tank is more mature i would like to start getting a couple of these clams in there. i like the blue and purple colors on them.

Yep I'm 100% sure it was one of my 15 little guys.... Strange...

I have a few stomella's too....

Anyways... Thanks for your wisdom skinz!
