Maxspect gyre XF350 falling off from glass

So I buyed two Maxspect gyres XF 350 to set up in my 500 gallons tank with 15mm thick glass.
After mount them, I realized that que pumps can't stand still in the glass, falling of after a few seconds of working, as seeing in this video:

After that I get in touch with coralvue support and they told me that they can't help me out because I'm from Brazil, and the responsibility relys on the local distributor.

Now I have 2 pumps that didn't work as announced and no support.
Doing some research I found that Maxspect sells reinforced magnets to be used in thicker glass (remembering that my glass is 15mm thick, the maximum recommended by Maxspect for use with the XF350 pumps)

What should I do?
To buy parts for a brand new equipment that didn't work as announced?
That's really frustrating

Alex.

Do you have the two different rotors set to flow in same direction, or did you reverse one for counter-flow arrangement? If the latter, that would cause the unit to want to twist.

Having a pair of 350's myself, I know that the unit is able to twist on the glass fairly easily since the magnets are position more inwardly than before and don't resist (less moment arm to resist torque).

Yes you are right at the limit based on the following footnote from their page..

* Up to 15mm or 0.59inch when the two water outlet direction are angled perpendicular to each other.

Can't you just return them to the store you bought them from?

The cages are both rotated to the same direction.
One making a 45º angle with the glass and the other part making a 30º angle with the glass in the same side.
I know that if I put the water jet perpendicular to the glass, the pump will probably stay still, but I didn't buyed them for this.
I need (and want) to direct the water jets to diferent points of the tank.

The worst thing to me is that Coralvue knows about this problem.....but the incorrect information stays on the their website and in the Maxspect website.
No note were added.
Here is what I hearded from Coralvue:

"Hello Alex Costa,

Unfortunately, we do not have a stronger magnet for these pumps, some customers are doubling up the magnets to try and get them to hold the pumps.

Maxspect is working on a fix for this issue, I can leave your ticket open until we get a resolution from them.

Sincerely,
Angie Brumfield"

Can't you just return them to the store you bought them from?

I buyed them from a vendor in China.
I payed 60% of taxes plus shipping charges. Return them isn't an option.

I understand your frustration/annoyance.

How much IS an extra magnet? It might be worth getting one, as annoying as it is to have to do so.

Before I had even gotten to the quoted part of your message as I was reading your reply, doubling up the magnets is what had occurred to me. If you have a second unit in your tank (although it doesn't appear to be the case that you do), you could use the outer magnet bar from that to test to see if it would work.

The older gyre xf250 the magnet is longer therefore it can hold up the pump much better. I have 1" acrylic tank and i have no problem. The newer xf350 redesign the magnet and make it shorter so its look better but not as strong.

Each "reinforcement magnet" costs US$29,00 in the Maxspect website and....yes....I can buy a pair of it.
The "reinforced magnet" is just a regular dry side magnet, that you mount in the wet side, over the wet side magnet.

But my problem is: I buyed a not cheap part.
I used it as the Vendor/Distributor/Manufacturer recomends.
It didn't work as announced.
And now I have to pay for a solution to fix it?

Of one way or another, I'll get it fixed.
I just want to people know that, if you got an 15mm thick glass tank, that's not a good option of pump.

Perfect!
I have 2 x XF250 in the same tank and no problem with the magnets.
