Maxspect LED owners!!!

Asureef I just got off the phone with Brain at Fins Reef he did say he most likely will be getting G3s in by June 8. From what he says the G3 will have more options and better coverage, I only hope the price doesn't get too high. Any way got on the waiting list for the G3s, my electric bills in Ca. are ridiculous makes the investment in LEDs a good option.More $ for animals.

That's awesome, just in time for my new build. Now, I have a few weeks to do some saving.

Hello to everyone.

This is a long thread so I suspect this question will have already been asked, but my internet connection is very very slow, so it is very hard to read the posts.

I was wondering if anyone had much experience of the 60W G2-180. My nano is only 15"x15" by 12" deep, and would like to keep a mixed reef with possibly a few small SPS near the top.

What is the colour like with zoas and SPS?

Any pictures or links to your tank threads would be gratefully appreciated.

Anyone know how long the LED's are supposed to last in the fixture before you have to basically change them all out ?

5 years huh? - I need 2 of the 110w's to cover a 72" SPS reef or would 3 be better? I have 1 110 right now that I'm putting over a 56 gallon cube.

To tell you the truth i couldn't tell the difference between cree royal blues and the semi royal blue. So for what it's wroth i didn't think changing to crees made a difference in my 170.

Same here. I switched out 3 whites, with 3 Cree Royal Blues, and I can't see the difference between the Cree's and the semiled's.

Hello, any 60W G2-810 owners out there........

I need some help, I can't seem to figure out the correct hours to run my lights and the correct placement of the light. About half of my sps are bleaching, they are still getting great polyp extension but they are super pale.

I have a g2-160. How many hours should I run each set of lights and how many inches off the water should I have the light? Right now its 4-5 inches off the water and the tank is 24 inches deep. All of the sps are about 10-12 inches from the surface of the water.

I am also running optics.

Do you have optics on the 30watters?

What about distance from the water?

I think you're probably alright at about 5", considering your tank's depth is 24", but hopefully someone else in a similar circumstance will chime in. My tank is 18" depth and I'm not using the optics, but I plan on adding optics (I'll leave them off the 30watt LED's) and raising my fixture up a little higher. I'll be borrowing a meter from someone in my reef club to figure out the PAR #'s. I would definitely try and see if you can borrow a meter, because the optics might be boosting PAR #'s too high for your tank.

I have a 14x14x14 gallon, Maxspect G2 160w with optical. My question is how high should I hang the fixture without bleeching everything? At the moment I have it hanging about 28" above from the tank. I do not have a par meter and no one in my area have one either. So I am asking for all your help on guiding me in the right direction. Thanks!
