And the others r correct... No spotlighting.....
Thanks for the feedback. Acrotrdco- Nice Tank! I guess spread and penetration is more what I'm concerned with. I'll know in a couple weeks when my order comes in.
I took some more PAR readings today. Im getting 1100-1150 at the surface 8" away in air with the 100 degree optics. The ability to pivot the lights is revealing some new options for me with lighting certain corals. I am able to get to some spots that were previously shaded by upper branches. This feature has been really ignored by all other LED manufacturers. It would be nice if someone bult an automatic pivoting LED that changed the angle through out the day. In the mean time the mazarra is the only LED off the shelf that has pivot capabilty.

What happened to your wireless controller, did you fix it or did you need to replace it?
Mine seems to be working great... only problem is that the system doesn't come back on or doesn't resume prior programming after a black-out, so you need to manually go back in and resume wireless operation (ie. sync all modules again to wireless controller). I hope they fix that with future firmware upgrades. I'd hate for my corals to go without light for days or have the light on 24/7 for days if I am away on vacation. That would be quite the disaster and I think an expensive "smart" light like this should be able to handle such issues, but then again, I don't know why a brief black-out (only 2-3 seconds) period would suddenly cause a loss of syncing between all modules to the wireless control.
It's an issue because if you are away on vacation and you have somebody taking care of your tank, it is going to be somewhat difficult and frustrating to explain to them how to sync up all units again. So, if that happens to you, definitely let them know!
Cheers,
John
They dont turn back on after a blackout? That's a serious problem and I would expect Maxspect to do something about it soon. You definitely dont want any short blackout to turn into a day-long period without lightEspecially if you re away for work during the week.
how do you lock the position of the ball joint?
with a screw........
Are you serious? Tighten the one that tightens the ball socket, the large screw. If that doesn't work, your ball socket is probably defective.
