mxman311,
Very very nice! Would you say the light looks as blue as the Kessil blue pendants? How about you Mike?
One thing I noticed. Look at these spectral graphs of the Razor, but here's a pic of my tank build first!! LOL

Worked on it a bit, but not much. Stand will be white, with wood colored trim. A granite top of the color of swirling sand will be at the base of the tank. It will come out 10 inches in front. Not sure on the sides yet. What do you guys think? 10 inches too? Or just 6 inches?
At any rate, here's the spectral graphs on your razor. Notice the 10 and 16K differences, Apparently, I should be able to go up higher in kelvin with the 10K to 16K by easily lowering the white channel. Correct?

Well I have it set at 100% on both channels so it looks less blue but still makes the corals pop. If I play with the settings I can make it so blue that I can see weird coraline and pink spots on my rock i didn't even know existed. Sometimes at night I will play with the blue for fun and see what kind of things I can find that I normally cant see.

A little word of warning on the high 100 % setting, I am starting to see some bleaching on a couple of sps. I have brought the setting down a bit on mine. I will slowly ramp up over a couple of weeks.

Wow,
So them puppies are really brighter then what our eyes perceive it to be. It's the lazer effect I am sure!
I WANT FRICKEN SHARKS WITH FRICKEN LAZER BEAMS ON THEIR FOREHEADS

Yoooooooooo, Mike!
Need a update if you would? How are the corals looking and doing with the new lights? How long have you had the LED's above the tank now?
Any pics??????:deadhorse:

Anyone thinks the Razor 120w 20" model is the equivalent of a 150w MH?

I have the old 150w JBJ hang on back kind, with a 20K XM DE bulb. I dont think the reflector on it is as good as an ordinary reflector.

This is for a 24x18x18 tank.

Lights have been over the tank about three weeks now.
Although these pics are a little blue this Tenius has in fact coloured up. This was browned out. The tips are now turning blue.

This milli is now darker. The tips have growth! Tips are actually bright blue in person.

New Aussie has bleached! The tips used to be very bright green! I have now lowered light intensity!

This coral continues to grow and colour up well. Just like any lighting, some corals will respond to it well and others won't. We need to remember that. Same occurrence happened with the halide!

My guess is it will be stronger with better coverage. You will have more than enough.

Thank you Mike for the great pics! Those corals look really good and polyp extension is excellent! The razor sure is living up to be a nice fixture! Very affordable with the correct spectrum. I think I am going to go with the 16K unit.

how many razors for a 40 breeder i really dont have a clue about the spread of this unit?

You can start with the 27". You can use this when you plan to upgrade.
