Do these only have 1 cord per unit?

Also, maybe I could get 3 of the 120w units, and run them perpindicular to the tank. Will I get coverage with a 72" long x 30" deep and 26" high tank?

Or would it be better (or overkill) with the 160w unit.

What is this coupon code I keep reading about? I want a 120w 16k Unit for my JBJ 28g Nano. Is there a discount on them?

On certain holidays online stores give 10% off. On Halloween I got 10% off at a couple of stores. The best thing to do is set up accounts for email alerts with online stores that carry them. Then when they have the sale you will get the discount.

1 cord.

Do you think one 160w can really cover a 4 foot tank? I think I'll need 2 120 what's for my 75 gallon what do use think?

I 27" would make the ends dark unless you hung it really high, but then of course you loose par. IMO, 2 120s would be much better.

Yes the discount makes them a better choice then the Apollo. For $150 more you get much more powerful lights.

16k vs 10k lights...which is better for coral growth and color?

I may be wrong but, I believe 10k provides a little more growth, 16k provides more pop!

Just an update folks. Notice the white tips on this palmers. Looks like I have a crab to hunt down!!
Some top down shots. Growth slowed down due to no water change for over a month.

Colors seem to be holding up and getting better!
I have a tough time focusing. Not sure why.

This one just completely browned out. It could be the quality of the coral. This happened as well when I had my T5 and Halides.

Moving from 4 T-5 to a 160W 16K razor. Anyone have suggestions/tips for acclimation? (e.g. what percentages to start at?)

start at: A 32% and B 50% as your highest points of the day and work your way up. try 1% increase everyday, or a 5% weekly. I prefer the 1% increase everyday because it didnt seem to shock my corals due to the slight increase over time, but it took a while to get my channels to: A 68% B 100% !

Mike,
Corals look great! Colors are fantstico! So are you still impressed with the light and its capabilities? Seems to be the light to get for LED at a reasonable price.

Thanks!

Thanks! I'll do the 1% a day approach and hopefully everything is happy.

I really like these LEDs but I currently have Ecoxotic Panorama Pros over my biocube (2 445nm and 1 8000k) I have a few SPS an I feel like growth is good but color isnt. Thats why Im worried about getting another led. I want more sps and from what I hear HQI and LED are better than leds for sps. Does anyone think they are getting just as good colors with the R420R? (It will be the 20.5" over the Solana 34 Im setting up) Thanks for any help!

I have had mine now for 2 1/2 months and so far very happy with it. I have had some frags that's always been brown and no growth under 8 bulbs of T5 and now colouring up and growing. Honestly hard to say if this is as good as halides. Too early to tell. However, the dusk to dawn effect can't be beat. The low electricity and less heat is a big plus as well, not to mention longer life span on the bulbs.
