Maxspect Razor

Yea like the dog whistle app. Mines is very very slight and it only happens when they are at 100% My fans have never turned on yet as far as I know

Just set up the 120 16k ( no high pitch noises and i am 25 but then again i work in a very loud factory haha :crazy1:) I had no problem with the legs just adjusted them, made sure they were square and they slid right in! First time ever seeing the light in person very nice looks sharp and thin. I put this light on my 29 high which is 30L i feel as if i should of went with the 160 to light my tank better looks dark to me around the edges but then again im used to T5 and new to LED. Only reason i went with the 120 is i plan to get another one and link them together on my 75 when the connector rods come out? Below are some pictures of the light on the tank. I have the A set to 40 and B set to 45. From the pictures do you guys think theres enough light to the right of my tank to sustain my leather? sorry crappy ipohone 5 pics!

Yea t-5's bleed light out big time around the tank. The led is very directional and seems dark but it really isn't lol. The leather will be fine, I think you can bump those number up more than what you have it. At least bump them up to 50% each or higher...

Raise it up to 8 to 10 inches above the tank. A 85 and b 95. You wont regret it..

yea try to shoot for both channels over 75%, also if it is possible raise it another 6in than it is now.

When i first got mine. I had the same issue. I was told to raise it and wola!
A whole new appreciation for the fixture.. Nothing like T-5's

I got my 10k unit, not very impressed compared to the 16k model. It definitely does not bring out the colors as much as the 16k, but to the eye it seems much brighter. My biggest issue with this light is the coverage and crisp white look. I could not find a setting that was absolete, but I could find settings that were almost identical to the 16k model. Im going to be keeping my 16k unit and selling off the 10k. It was a great expiriment while it lasted, but I feel the 16k unit is that much better. It's a lot more appealing to the eye!

Does the 16k model appear much bluer? If you adjust the 16k model to a whiter setting do the colors still pop more than the 10k? I don't like a bluish look too much in my tank, so I'm undecided as to which model to get. Thanks for any input from ur experience!

If you don't want a lot of blue Get the 10k, the 16k could have been called the 22k. Even the white channel is 1/3 royal blue on the 16k. I actually run my Razor differently to most.
Here is my settings for the 16k 120w

TP1. 6:30 A-0 B1
TP2. 11:00 A-15% B-25%
TP3. 13:30 a A40% B-50%
TP4. 16:00A 65% B-56%
TP5. 20:00 A-3% B-20%
TP6. 22:00 A-0% B-1%

The 16k unit pops colors a lot better than the 10k. I tried all different settings. The 16k is the way to go. when you run both channels the same intensity it is almost too yellow with the 16k version. Youll notice in this thread that almost everyone runs their A channel lower than their B channel even with the 16k version. You can reference many other led lighting systems and the maxspect uses a low kelvin rated diode (yellow and orange). I felt like the 10k model adding the additional yellow diodes really made the tank yellow unless I adjusted it 60% A 100% B. I was looking for a crisp white look and was hoping that the 10k would do that for me, but it did not. It just made the tank very yellow. I went back to the 16k version because I can run it at higher intensities and still be appealing.
This is a great video of how the 16k looks at 100%

^ very true. I got 2 16k version for my 120g and i love it.

Corals that were losing color under old 250w mh bulb are gaining thier color back in a very short time.

My 10K 27" razor doesn't have a yellow look to it has a crisp whitish blue look. I run mine at A:78 B:85 seems fine to me. Don't like the rich blue look doesn't look natrual is the 16k model realistic to the true depths of corals?

I wouldn't say that any type of lighting we incorporate will bring out the true depths of corals, but the 16k version makes the corals fluorescence more. I just compared the 2 lights on the same corals and the 16k pops more. Its how you want to slice your cake!

Thanks for the pics, nice to see the 120 on a 30" tank. My 36G bow front is 30" long with a center brace. I've been worried about the center bulb cluster of the 160 being right over the brace. Have you tried raising the fixture for better spread? Would love to see more pics!
