may meeting work shop, DIY kalkreactor

Gauging interest for the May meeting. We can do a DIY kalkwasser reactor work shop or I can do a basic "working with acrylic" talk.

The work shop would involve building a clear PVC kalkwasser reactor. The complete kit would cost each member participating 64.00 including the maxi jet pump. We would build reactors as a group and when complete you would walk out with a ready to use kalkwasser reactor.

We would call it kalkenstein :)

I LOVE my Geo kalkwasser reactor. This is a great opportunity, you guys should jump all over this... :)

certainly a weekend thing, and this will depend on how many are willing to take part in the workshop

My Geo kalkreactor rocks! I'd love to get some acrylic experience. I'll then be a self-proclaimed acrylic tank building master! :D

Count me in !

Count me in !

Last night was a shocking revelation that I need some help in my acrylic techniques.

Everyone keep in mind this will be a DIY clear PVC reactor, not an acrylic GEO reactor. I did a workshop for CSEA a few years ago (maybe 5, not sure, time flies) and it was good fun. At the end of the work shop you would go home with a functioning reactor.

Any problem with me trying to get of a few C-SEA members to make a road trip for this? I wanted to get a little acrylic experience and could use a kalk reactor too. I do have a magnetic stirrer though and would like to maybe incorporate that but have nothing against getting another Maxi-jet anyway.

Will this have a flange or just a screw cap?

Thanks,
-- Kevin

We built the Geo diy calcium reactor at C-Sea. great time and I still use mine. I have a kalk reactor, but count me in.

Hey Joe, could you post a picture to give anyone interested a general idea of the clear PVC?
