Maybe im not meant to have a real octospawn

So after my very first coral purchase, your typical green with purple tip frogspawn, ive been researching alot and discovered the octospawn. Since then ive been searching for one. I purchased one, well it was labeled as one, turns out it was just a different colored frogspawn. Not what I wanted but still cool as its a different color from what I have. Still searching I found an orange octospawn online. I messaged the guy alot about it asking for multiple pics to confirm its a real octospawn. Finally ive found what ive been looking for BUT he was asking $60 plus $39.99 for shipping. Told the guy id love purchase but my gf would kill me if I spent $100 on a single head of coral. Then he said ill give you the deal you cant resist... the orange octospawn, a neon green octospawn and a zoanthid frag for your gf. Naturally I purchased immediately. Corals show up today and the fedex box is soaked!! Orange octospawn was okay, zoanthids were ok, neon green octospawn completely dry and has alot of skeleton showing! Its almost like the octospawn doesnt want to be in my tank, but im remaining optimistic and acclimated it anyways and placed it in the tank. The guy emailed me and said to not worry that he will compensate me for unhealthy coral arrival. I still hope I can doctor the green octospawn back to good health. After being in the tank for roughly 5 hours. Coral is looking like it wants to live. This is my first coral that I have that is in poor health so really hoping I can save it. I think with good water, lighting and food itll be just fine. Ill post progress pics as days go on

I hope it lives. I've been wanting one of those too. It would be a nice addition to my other euphyllias.

I hope so too. The neon green one is in far worse shape than the orange one. Ill try my best to save it. Only time will tell

Both my octospawn corals are doing good, and green one is showing good improvent over day 1. Ive decided to move them closer to the middle of tank so they have more light and moderate flow.

ya im surprised myself! im thinking i got the coral in some water just in time. each day it looks better and better

corals can be very resilient. most deal with being exposed to air and direct sunlight a few hours a day from tides in shallow water reefs. others deal with temp fluctuations from being in tidal pools that heat up.

Corals are quite resistant. My first LPS was a hammer and it died horribly. I kept the skeleton in the system and saw it sprout new little heads.

Looks very nice and healthy. I am glad to see that it made it. Great pics. I have been wanting to get an Octospawn for a while, but have not found any locally. I may need to go online for it.

Thanks for sharing.

Ya I couldnt find any local either. All the local octospawn corals I found were in stores display tanks and they wouldnt sell them. I had no choice but to get mine online
