I'm always amazed at some of the pics people get with point and shoot cameras. Gary M. get's some dandies. But he also admits he probably tosses 50 shots to get the one keeper.
Very nice pic! I looked through my photobucket account, and by the time I found my best one, I saw yours again and didn't even feel worthy to post mine. But, here it is anyways:
I borrowed my office's DSLR last night for a bit... got a long way to go before I get the feel for all the settings and adjustments, but got a couple decent pictures. The pic I posted above is still better, which just shows it's not about having the best camera, it's knowing how to take good pictures with what you've got.
Terrific shot of a beautiful coral. I believe I have that coral as well. Its green with red highlights. I still have not been able to definitively ID it. It has characteristics of both a ricordea and a "hairy" mushroom. Like Nate says, it grows and spreads very quickly (which is one reason why I'm uncertain whether it is a ricordea) so one is advised to keep it off the rockwork.
