They were showing it at the casino is what I believe he meant

that fight was hella weak, and Mayweather I think was hella wack. He ran away from Oscar all 12 rounds. Oscar would have kicked his a$$$ if he would have actually fought.

the Judah andCoto fight next month will be a good one also

This is why I can't stand boxing anymore. I'm glad I didn't shell out the $60 for PPV and just watched the Jazz vs. Rockets instead.

Mayweather is about as exciting to watch as Pernell Whitaker. I think I'd rather watch paint dry.

I consider both fighters to be overrated, but Oscar fights with the heart of a champion (with the exception of his Trinidad bout at the end). A true Warrior. I did not watch the fight, so someone please tell me how Oscar landed more shots, yet, somehow lost. Judging from their faces after the fight, it looked like Mayweather took a lot of punishment.

I heard talk of how Mayweather controlled the tempo. Is running away a tempo?

Thanks in advance for the input!

Oscar tried to set the tempo but Mayweather had a game plan and they stuck with it, Oscar tried for 12 rounds to get him to fight but Floyd basically kept playing "D" (its what he's known for and his quickness) and just countered each time and all his shots landed.
Oscar had MORE punches thrown but he did not land a lot of them. Oscar I think after had PCT. Landed at around the high 20% and Floyd PCT landed was around the 40%. But if they would have actually fought toe to toe then there would have been a couple of knock downs and it would have been a better fight. Mayweather SR after the fight was asked "who do you think won this figh?" he answered " Oscar ". But then again this was just a huge promotion to get boxing and its fans back, and they are talking rematch.

Mayweather cant fight toe to toe with De La Hoya but is much faster and made De La Hoya look silly and old quite often. Floyd is a boxer....not a fighter. He would be dumb to go toe to toe with De La Hoya and is a much better boxer. If you dislike that fight it is too bad because it was a good one. If action is what you want in a mortal combat sense, try K1 or UFC. As a boxing fan I thought it was a great fight and Mayweather edged him out. Seems Oscar has always come up short when fighting the great champions. ( Trinidad, Mosely, and Mayweather) Fight will replay Sat. on HBO for those who missed it.

Mayweather's dad was a De La Hoya trainer and does not get along with his son, what he says means very little from an objective standpoint.

Me too! I love the combat and the quick pace along with the real full spectrum of the fighters. I also love boxing though and appreciate a good tactical fighter such as a Moseley or Mayweather. I just don't think you can ask Floyd to stand in with De La Hoya, it isn't what made him a great champion in the first place. Just my opinion however!

He's a very technical fighter that makes fighters looks bad, like a smaller version of Chris Byrd. These are smart guys, and it would be the way I'd box if I stepped in the ring. Avoid as many exchanges as you can throughout your career.

I agree...it's what made him a champion, Paul. However, I'd hardly call him great. The toughest opponent he's ever faced was an 'aging', 'past his prime' Oscar, and he's thinking of retiring? Good riddance.

you guys should check out k-1max. Those guys have all the hand skills of a boxer, plus kicks that would drop a bear. It's a huge contrast to even the regular hw k-1 fights

I see your point Karl, but I think it is the ease in which he has dismantled other good fighters such as Judah, Baldomir, Gatti, Jose Luis Castillo X2, and the late Diego Corrales that classifies him as great. Not to mention that Whittaker and Mosely ducked him earlier in his career. Oscar is a good fighter... I just think as a boxer he is a tier below because in the BIG ONE's, he never won. But just like the boxing scorecards, one's own perspective and opinion can greatly vary from another's. I say he should fast for 2 months and fight Pacquiao at around 125 pounds. That I would pay to see!!:bum:
