Me again. 40B build. Again.

I have a cheap stand if in the need of one. It's pretty basic but would do the job.

I think I may have seen you at the auction. I was the one with my wife and 2 year old daughter...if ya remember a little rug rat running around...my daughter not wife.

I have a esshop s-120 skimmer, I used it on my 58 gallon and it was awesome!
I built a new 200 gal tank, so this skimmer is for sale it rated 40-120 gallons, asking $100 retails $300

Cutie pie! I do remember seeing the little lady at the auction! You're so brave to bring her lol! My 2 & 4 year old girls would have been distracting (to say the least). How much do you want for the stand? :)

I'll do a little research on that skimmer and let you know! Thanks!

I like it! Is your skimmer one of those Octopus 100-something or other space savers?

Right now I'm researching overflow stuff.... I'd love to know how you did yours. :)
Yeah! Its not the space saver to witch would have been nice but it does the job nice think and dark skimate form it!
And the sump was pretty easy! I will post some photos of my blue prints later when I get homw .

I am too new to be able to respond back to you...

It had a 30 gallon sump under it so I think so?
Nothing overly wrong...maybe a new coat of paint?

sometime in the next month or so?

Just let me know.

So are u gonna build ur own tank!

lol! I think so. That doesn't stop me from stalking craigslist though ;)

I've been sick the past few days, but as soon as I can get some time, I'll run to Petco for a 40b.

In the meantime, I'm planning my strategy for re-doing my aquascape in my biocube. It's been the same way for 5 years.... on a pile of dirty, dirty sand. (that I plan on replacing) I really ought to get that going, too.

Yeah I'm still in the process of adding rock to my tank!

I'm fairly sure I've decided on some of the equipment:

Reef Breeders Photon 24" light (might go with the 32", but I doubt it). I'm hunky dory with putting lots of shrooms on the outskirts if necessary :)

Reef Octopus space saver skimmer

Still working on a pump, overflow (CPR maybe?), powerheads (although, realistically, I'll probably go with a couple Koralias)

Just waiting for sales and used bargains!

I think this may become my official build thread because as of today, I have the following:

40 Breeder
the exact Reef Octopus skimmer I wanted, used from another reefer (saved some good bucks!!)
50lbs of Reef Cleaner dry rock on the way (planning on soaking, cycling, etc... in a rubbermaid tub for a month or two before the stand/sump/etc is built)

I'm starting to get excited!!

I'm also having second thoughts about the Reef Breeder photon light. I found a thread on here saying they were the same as the Mars Aqua units. So I have more research to do.

What does everyone think of those Build My Led strips?

Well, hurry up would ya? ;)

by the way, is yours a 40b? Or larger?
Mine is a 75 gallon! Was originally going for 120 or larger but I wanted to see if u would really keep up with it and actually like reefing again! Before sinking 3 grand into something i did not really want to do! And so far I'm in love again!! Ur selections on equipment look good! I like the new third gen korelia powers head mine is awesome it super quite and no knocking when it turns on and off I need to change out my other older korelia and get another new one. I just got 5 more pounds of rock so slowly its building up. And I just got a new fish as well he's been in QT for a few days already and is doing great![emoji1] and my corals are doing good as well just got a new type of acan!

I've only seen the FW versions of their lights. I was impressed with the quality and the amount of light they produced. May want to do a search on Google to see if there are any reviews of the SW versions.

I would highly recommend going with 2 AI primes they're the latest and greatest in LED lighting for a smaller tank. Completely wireless with no director needed and with 2 you could easily use them in a future upgrade to a 4 ft tank. Plus they are right at your budget at 200 a piece. you might even get away with one with just a little dark in the corners.

My friend recently bought one and boy was it a pain to setup kept asking me to connect to wifi and then wouldn't connect so we were waiting for the solid green light and that still hasn't happened so we don't know if it's faulty or if it's something on the AI side
