mean kole tang

Ok i'v had this kole tang in my tank for about 8 months. I have some anthias 2 clowns and a mandarin and he's never showed any aggresion to them i now bought a potters angel and the kole is chasing him around as i type. Will his aggression die down or will i likely have to remove one of them? Is there anything i can do? thanks, james

I would guess that the aggression will die down soon enough. Koles aren't usually known for being as spiteful as other tangs, though they will be initially be as territorial as any. I had two koles who I thought would NEVER stop fighting, but even they worked out their differences. I'd just give yours time, unless he is directly injuring your Potter's.

Had the same problem with mine. At 3 inches, he used to be the king of my tanks. Two or three days, it will calm down. Try going with no lights, or hang a mirror to distract him for now. I can tell you this. Every fish that I put in with the Kole that was bigger, he backed right down.

thanks yeah he already seemed to calm down a bit and isn't intentionally looking for him to chase. As a side question do you think i'll have a problem with live food with having a potters wrasse and a mandarin. I have a 100 gal prob around 100ibs live rock and a big refugium in my sump with tons of pods?

My Kole is mellow yellow! I think he might be chasing cause the shape is somewhat similar, Just a guess.

You have a potters wrasse, james? heard they are pretty delicate

yeah i just picked it up yr had a huge shipment from hawaii. It was so pretty i couldn't pass it up and awesome price too. Didn't realize they were delicate till i got home He seems to be doin fine and picks at some mysis so i hope he'll be ok.
