meanwell driver group buy.

Is anyone needing to buy meanwell drivers for an LED build? I am going to order a few ELN-48-60Ds they are $26.39 each. I can get prices for any Meanwell driver just let me know I would like to place an order within the next 3 weeks.

If you are needing several look at the HLG series. More than 6 ELNs in a household can cause harmonic and inrush current issues. With the HLGs you can run parallel strings of LEDs.

I haven't read much about those...Would I be able to run all the blues on a single HLG?

I am planning on a 2:1 ratio with 96 led array in 4 fixtures of 24ea.

look at the HLG-185-48B it will run 5 strings of 12 for 60 leds or 5 strings of 13 for 65 leds each string would have a max of 780mA. The driver will provide up to 3.9A with the "B" version it is dimmable by 1-10v analog or PWM. If you are wanting to run your RBs up to 1A they make a HLG-240-48B that would allow you to drive them at max. I personally run my XP-Es at or around 700mA to help preserve the life and reduce heat. These drivers are $88.06 so it is cheaper than 4 ELNs at $26 a piece.

I just about have what I need sorted out with Mike @ Rapid, when I have it nailed down, I'll get with you. What about ordering the leds too?

I am good on LEDs I may pick up a few here or there but no big orders. I just need a few drivers I am redoing my fixture I am adding blues and violets.

I'm going to need to order 128leds, 96RB and 48CW which should give me about a 15K-17K coloration and plenty of light over my tank.

You guys are killing me. Now I want to go LED.
Greg help a brother out. I have a 72x24x24 tank. What do I need as far as drivers and the amount of LED white/ Blue.

Eventually I want to drive them from my pc with a controller or custom interface for PH probes, etc...

With Cree XP and XT series LEDs one LED per every 15 square inches would let you grow anything. so for a 72x24 thats about 115 LEDs. So if you like a blue look 2:1 you could do 78 blues and 44 white that would give you great coverage. You could run this all on 2 seperate drivers one for blue and one for white. You could dim the drivers VIA 1-10v analog or PWM.

2 drivers? everything I have seen is like 7 drivers. have they come that far that I can drive 60 LED's per driver?

Hey ghellin, can you get meanwell power supplies on this order? I am looking for a GS18U24-P1J
ac to dc 24v power supply for a test. I got my hands on dosing pump with three pumps but they are french 24v pumps Crouzet. If it works I would be able to build a controlable doser using three power supplies and a hobby box. Would just use my controler to run them. Diy dosing pumps. lol

Yes 2 drivers they are about $88 each. These are Meanwell drivers as well just like the ELNs you see on rapidled, the HLG series drivers are still considered low voltage dc 52v or less they just provide more amps. So instead of running a single series of LEDs on each driver you can run multiple series (parallel circuits). The catch is each string needs to be balanced and fuses need to be added to prevent a failure if an led was to go bad. Like in your case to run 78 royal blues you could use a Meanwell HLG-240-48B which will provide up to 5A and 48v. So you could run 6 strings of 13 LEDs at a max of 833mA with a 1A fast blow fuse on each string. Then the whites you could use a HLG-184-48 which will provide 3.9A and run 3 strings of 14 LEDs to a max of 1.3A. So two drivers would run your 120 LEDs!

Yes how about $16.11?

when are you ordering? I need to double check the watts. may change the part # but that sounds good to me

I would like to order after the January meeting that way everyone can get their money to me then. I have a catalog that I will bring to the meeting, or if you want to search the website just google powergate llc.

I assume since they are dimmable you can create dusk/dawn and full light events.

Now that my interest is peaked, should I blend in purple or red for additional spectrums? or are the blues now close enough to the actinic wavelengths?

LOL wow now I am afriad to post Blake.

As for different colors there is no best answer everyone has their own liking. I have neutral whites and royal blues on my 58 and a mix of RB CW and NW on my pod. I do know adding the NW really helped with the red spectrum. I am going to order some violets, blues, and reds next month and try them out. once I have them up you are more than welcome to stop by and look, I live about 1.5 miles from UCO so after a meeting might be a good time.

As far as dimming yes these HLGs can be dimmed for sunrise and sunset as well as lightning storms. With the dimmable drivers it really allows you to zero in on a perfect color as well.
