Melafix didn't work on eye cloud

I have a Bangaii Cardinal with eye cloud on both eyes. A week in the hospital tank dosing Melafix per instructions didn't clear it up.

Anyone have a better treatment option for eye cloud. The fish has had it about 5 weeks but eats and swims like there is no issue. In fact, it mated with the male 3 weeks ago. I had to kick it out of the hospital tank because I need it for the nursery.

soak all your food you are feeding it in either zoe or zoecon. I did that when my clown had a cloudy eye/pop eye and it cleared it up in a few days.

cloudy eye and pop eye is mainly caused by bacteria infection. keep high water quality and antibiotic would help.

Recommend not using hospital tank exposed to disease for nursery. IRT cloudy eye, keep good water conditions and feed vitamin soaked foods to benefit fish immunity system. Also, if bacteria not susceptible to Melafix, can try an antibiotic like Maracyn 2 or Maracyn Plus.
