i posted on here about my potters angel that i have been trying to catch with no luck. the angel has a cloudy eye and a damaged fin on the left side and the left front side seems to have a film. could it be a parasite? but i do not know much about parasites, just going off of what i read on one other post. i had not gotten it to eat until today. i made it out to the LFS and bought live brine. he snagged s few up. so, now that ive got it eating, i have also read that some people, given that thier water parameters are good, dose melafix in their tanks for cloudy eyes. will melafix effect inverts? i have blue leg hermits, a turbo snail, a green brittle star, an arrow crab and a condylactis.

also, could it be possible for my brittle star to be the cause of the damage to the potters?
id love to keep it in there but if i can find a cure/source for the damage i am afraid it will effect my other fish

No expert here ,
doubt the starfish has anything to do with it. ( unless the fish is laying on it's side for extended periods of time acting dead )
+1 on the melafix , I have a pair of Fuzzy Dwarfs that were fine....until I dumped 3 live damsels in as a "TREAT" and of course they now have / what I think / are flukes ... OF THE EYE !
No coral in the tank > so in goes the melafix...day 1 ...updates to come...
probably will spend the $30 on Prazi

I think if it was your brittle star the fish would have simply disappeared. Having said that, I would remove the star before it gets big and starts ambushing your fish at night. I would also be concerned about the arrow crab long term.

It sounds like a physical injury that's healing. I would do some more research on melafix in a reef before adding it to your display. I don't know what the effect would be, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that it's not a great idea. Sorry, I know that's not very helpful.

It may be that you just have to keep your water quality high and wait it out. It's good that the fish is taking brine from the water column. I'll bet it eventually starts eating other things. You might start mixing up some frozen mysis in with the brine to see if he'll try it.
