melanarus wrasse problems

OK so has anyone experienced them eating your cleaning crew I got about 50 the other day and my wrasse almost picked them all off I feed twice a day just don't understand any experience would help

I have one and he loves my snails. Nature of the beast I suppose. Deal with it or get rid of him I guess lol

mine was totally reef safe until he reached about 3 inches then ate my hermits and smaller shrimp.

Old thread but how the heck do you guys catch it in a reef tank? He doesn't seem to want to swim into the net... Or into the fish trap

snails make for a great snack for them

Eventually he'll go into the trap. One trick I've used for wrasses... tied a rock onto the trap. Wrasses can't resist exploring the "new cave" for food

Old thread but how the heck do you guys catch it in a reef tank? He doesn't seem to want to swim into the net... Or into the fish trap

I had to remove mine from my 75 not too long ago. I used an acrylic trapdoor type trap with just some frozen food. Once he found the opening to get to the food (he was trying to get the food from the side until then), he was caught in about 30 seconds.
