raddogz, once I read the method others have been using, I'll decide if I go that route. I need to know more, like what species they prefer and which will they ignore - do they like Acropora millepora, for example? I have a tank full of those, and they look perfectly happy.

It would be nice to figure out where these came from. And what they tend to hang out upon, as I have a prop section full of corals. Would they hitchhike on zoanthids and leathers, for example, or do they tend to congregate on SPS only, and then which kinds specifically? I've never tackled this topic because it wasn't something I was dealing with, so I'm going to have to do some homework.

I wish I wasn't so busy work-wise right now, because I'll need to dedicate some time to this obviously.

They seem to like Valida, and millie's the most.

You will have to look for the eggs usually at the base or in the v-shaped areas where the branches sprout from the base of the coral. Once you find the eggs, scrape them off (I used an old paring knife) umm, not in the tank.

When I first noticed it, a really nice blue hoeksemai frag was bleaching from the bottom up and the next day it was gone. I attributed it to the rough ride home from my friend's place. Then a simplex started to turn white, I pruned the white rtn piece, and it kept spreading, pruned again and by the next day I pulled the whole colony out. Not only did it have flatworms, but eggs as well. I wound up losing a gorgeous seven inch by six inch colony.

Good luck. There is a ton of info here on RC. FWIW - I have been treating with Tropic Marine's Pro Coral Care, and for the moment under control.

Yea, I think that has been confirmed. :)

After reading what Travis (I think it was Travis) went through with AEFWs I ordered a few bottles of Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure as it's one of the few dips known to kill these buggers. I dipped my last batch of coral in this stuff and will do with all new coral too.

I am glad to see I am not the only one who likes TMPCC . The trick is to continue treatments even after you havent seen them for a month .

I am still doing dips every week. It's one good thing about not having a canopy is that I have to stand for about two hours to dip each and every frag and blow any flatworms off.

It's a good thing that at leasts Marc has a back room with and open top in which to access all his corals.

I was going to add it to order with Marine Depot, but they didn't carry it. Where did you get yours?

Because of Melev's advice I started to clean my skimmer daily. That's my excuse for not doing the woodwork!!:D

Marc u know can get a big door that just opens up, cuz if u think about ur walls are in the way anyway LMAO.
i'll say it takes u another year :)

Yea, FragFarmer for me too. I just dipped new corals once but I think it might be prudent to setup a QT tanks and dip a few times when first receiving corals. But I don't have teh space for another QT tank so maybe the frag section in the sump can contain any nasties.
