For the past 72 hours, I've been repainting the interior rooms of my house. In the process, Casper and the Kuda were moved into the fishroom near the Phyto Jug, some corals were moved into their tank with them, and my kitchen was cleaned up. Counter space has been recovered at last.
The living room, dining room, entry & hall, as well as the kitchen have all new paint. Stuff was moved around, and around again. I had a helper figure out colors, and she spent yesterday texturing the accent wall of me, which looks amazing.
The skimmer went nuts from the fumes, but with the temperature outside in the mid 90s, that couldn't be helped. Nor did the 100% humidity make anything easier for me. Btw, if it is 100% humid, why doesn't that mean we are drowning in water?
On Saturday morning, I stopped by the LFS to pick up a coral I saw four days before, and to my amazement it was still there. It is in the prop section of my sump at the moment, but will be moved up to the reef in the near future. It is a stunning piece, and I'm glad I got it.

This is what the tank looked like on Saturday morning.
Then by Sunday, the wall had changed colors.
And by Monday night, it is done.
The wall facing the end of the tank is where my dining table is. The wall behind it had some ancient rattan or bamboo-type wallpaper on it that has been there forever. Here are a few images to show you what was involved to remove it and replace its look.
What peeled off was removed, and then wallpaper remover was required to get the rest of it off. I'd say 40% went down fighting.
Next, the wall was retextured by a friend & club member, who did a beautiful job while I got the kitchen prepped for priming & paint.
After it dried overnight, I was able to paint it the new color. I had red on the brain for this accent wall, but went with Roasted Pepper. You can see the kitchen is painted as well.

cool. it is always amazing what a fresh coat of paint will do...i'm sure you feel like you are in a new home.
hope the fumes didn't make the skimmer go too crazy!

The pictures look different than reality, taken with a flash. I just got up and looked around, and it looks great. Since the day I moved in this house, everything has been beige / cream / almond and I am sick of it. The main living room and kitchen just look renewed now.
I might try taking a few without the flash to see if they come out better. Or maybe shoot a brief video.
Woodwork - I planned (and now even more so) to use a dark stain, and it should look really nice against the new color.

DO IT, DO IT, DO IT!
I'm sooo glad I went with a dark stain, you'll love it. Finishing the woodwork was and is one of the most rewarding parts of this hobby for me so far, but I'm heavily medicated right now....what was I... :smokin: I do have to admit that if it wasn't for my project manager not putting up with it unfinished in the living room it would still look like this, instead of that.

Thanks, I think the 120 will do for a while, I'm still fairly new to reefing. All bets are off when we get our next house in a few years.

Six replacement buckets of Kent Sea Salt were delivered to my door today.
Please mix up a fresh batch and let us know what the values are, I'm curious to see what the values are now that they've switched manufacturing facilities.
