So far so good. They look a little bit see-through to me yet very colorful, but I think the new lightbulb will resolve that. The foyer is so bright now, I can't believe it. The RBTAs hid in the rockwork all day, so I decided to reduce the light period down to only 5 hours a day for the next few days to avoid cooking the corals.

Here are a number of them, although it looks better as a huge image.

Wow!
I have heard and seen other acrylic tanks that have gotten scratched or even melted bc/ of the vortech and it's spinning magnet and the heat generated.
Has this happened at all with this, angled tank?

None at all. I think that is reported by many but few actually suffer from any damage. I only know of one tank that specifically had an issue from one pump, and he had several on his tank.

I'm getting a nice 1" wave in this tank and it is only using 6 to 8 watts of power.

150w. Fortunately, that is about it. The only other power that tank needs is the return pump, which is currently a Mag 5, but I'm about to build a manifold and when I do, it will be a shared Sequence Dart pump to run a number of items including this tank.

Anything that reduces power consumption is a good thing.

I'm doing a little math here, but don't know if it is right.

VorTech - 7w
MH - 150w
Mag 5 - 45w

.007 x 24 = .168 (kwatts per day)
.150 x 8 hrs = 1.2 (kwatts per day)
.045 x 24 hrs = 1.08 (kwatts per day)

Those numbers add up to 73 kWh monthly x $.124375 which equals $9.13 per month. So for about $10 a month, this tank is powered. The filtration is part of the 280g reef system, so I'm not including that.
