While doing some math in my 280g thread, it got me to thinking about how much it costs to run indiviual items. The VorTech pump costs me $0.62 a month to provide the wave action I'm seeing. ;)

$4.48 is the light, and $4.02 is the return pump.

Very nice as usual Mr. Melev! Can you tell me where you found out how much the power costs in your area? Did you call the power company or was it something else? Can't wait to see some new colors with that new bulb.

If you are talking about the rails, I found those in the clearance section of Ikea. They were intended to be handles for a cabinet or fridge, but when I saw them and the tiny hole meant for the screw, I knew I had a winner.

You can see how it was installed one page back:

I looked on the back of my bill. It is listed there. I was just on powertochoose.org to see what other otions I have to choose from, and it is frightening to see the electricity rates offered in Texas. 12.5 cents per kWh was the lowest, and 22 cents was the high.

Before deregulation, it was around 7 or 8 cents. I'm about to pay .14 if I stay with my current provider.

looking cool! Another question: Why didn't you put the overflow on the left and the lockline on the right so it doesnt have to cross over?

I wanted the plumbing out of sight on the left. At the time, I thought this would work out best, keeping the drain up higher and kind of hiding the return bulkhead. It's too late to make any changes and works just fine.

The wave action does cause a slurp situation, but I don't care. I could fill the trench with some type of foam floss to stop the sound, but it would be critical that I clean it out regularly to prevent stoppages. Since it is in the foyer, there's no reason to bother. You only hear it when you stand in front of the tank.

Awesome video, Great F*&#king song choice too. I love Rush! As you can see in my signature: I want a MP20 real bad, and i dont even have a tank setup yet! Since you guys talked to the creators already about it, what would be the minimum size tank it would work on in your opinion?

I think a 24g would be okay. It would look rather odd on a 12g since the wet-side is still the size it is (3" in diameter, 2.5" off the glass). It will work on any tiny tank, but then it comes down to aesthetics as well.

Of course, if you mounted it on the back of that 3g pico, I want to see pictures. :D

Love Rush myself. I was having some trouble picking which song I liked most for that vid. ;)

2112 is always a safe bet! If i ever get one of those pumps btw, i know i will have lots of fun trying that thing out, maybe even as a drink blender ;)

I hear you. I really like the clear clean background on this tank. I don't know why. I could slide something black in there to see how I like it.

The Rose BTA split last night. I took a few pictures today of the four, where yesterday there were two.

One interesting phenomena that occurs when taking pictures in a tank in wave mode. If I point the camera at a spot and just hold it there, I can see the color of the image shift from red back to white. I'm guessing that occurs because the water depth has changed as well as the angle of water's surface changing.

Here are two images in row, and you'll be able to see the difference.

So not only do I have deal with camera settings, now I have to deal with timing?!
