Hi everyone, my name is john and I live about an hour and a half south of Memphis in Cleveland MS. I have been obsessed with reef tanks for about five years now and I only know one other person with a tank and all of his frags came from me. I am currently looking to join a group to share info and swap frags. Ya'lls group isn't too far from me. Actually I am coming to check out Memfish this weekend and check out their acans, I just heard about this store. I have been driving to Hattiesburg 4 hours south of me for corals and supplies. I would really love to join your group and check out some members tanks if possible. My phone number is 662-588-1002 and my email is buttcanan123@yahoo.com
P.S. Just as a side note my current tank is a 55 with 2-250w MH with 10K Ushio bulbs and 2-110w VHO for actinic supplement. I have 65 lbs rock and an assortment of LPS, softies, SPS, inverts, and 2 fish.

Thanks,
John B.

Sorry, just went to the website and saw that the next meeting hasn't been updated there, but the thread listed has the correct info.

By all means come on up and join in with us.

We have Club Members from all around Miss. Ark. and Tennessee and you would be welcomed I assure you.

We had a GREAT frag swp in the fall, and people are swapping and selling frags here on Reef Central all the time.

Sounds great. I can't wait to drive up and meet everybody. What is the joining fee? I will be around Memphis from 9:00 am until after the meeting if anyone wants to show off their tank.

I haven't yet seen her take personally, but I expect the location where the meeting is being held(Teena's house) to have a very nice tank. She recently upgraded to a large tank, 240 gallons if I remember right.

Hey Phil, I live in Oxford, MS and have been in the club for 3 years (I think, 3 christmas partys anyways), and this is a great bunch of folks to get to know, and the meeting are always fun. Welcome!

My name is John but I registered as the name of my old tessalata eel, PhiltheEel. I also have TobyTheGoby, BartTheDartfish, LennyTheBlenny, and Fred. Fred is a true percula. Those are what me and the wife named them when we got them. Where is Kermits Reef? I went to a store there a couple of years ago and they tried to charge me for an aptasia that was on a rock. It was called, i think, Somethin Fishy? I hope these stores are better than that one. If any of you ever travel through Hattiesburg MS stop at The Crystal Reef, it is the best LFS i have been too. It is packed with corals.

Sorry, that's funny! Poor form, but funny. WHOA!

Kermie's website is here:

John you will be blown away by the stores in Memphis, I've traveled all over the country and visited LFS from one coast to the other and Memfish and Kermits rank up there with some of the best.

Scarson61- I can't wait to come up. Do they normally have a large selection of corals? You don't happen to know their price on LR or base rock do you? I would love to see your tank but you would have to move out of Oxford. I am too much of a BULLDOG fan to step in the city limits of Ole Miss.
Mako Shark II- Are you familiar with the place I am talking about. No lie, the guy tried to charge me like $15.00 for an aptasia. He tried to tell me it was a "special" kind of anemone. HA!...Special...

Have you seen the website? They must be in the early stages or something, they only had a blue coral for 20.00 and a Naso Tang. Oh yeah and gravel. Oh well, I'll see for myself. From what I have seen of the display the shop is worth visiting just for that.

Trust me you will not be disappointed in Kermits or Memfish. They are both "major" sponsors and supporters of our club and are first rate.

I will be nice and say nothing about any other LFS in the Memphis area.

Also please note that Scarson61 is also in the business and sells corals, and he is actually "outside the city limits of Oxford"

You should check his "stuff" out as well, he hosted one of the best club meetings we had this past year at this place.
He also has the prettiest frag around, they call her "Chloie" I believe!!

Good folks, for sure!!

Kermit's website isn't the best.

I'm pretty good with PC's , if I was better with HTML I'd offer to redo it for free.
Talking about it makes me want to talk to a buddy of mine who has some experience with it , to find out how difficult it is.
