Mine definately looks very different - it's more of a deep burgandy like the color of a maroon clown, but with bright green tips like a torch coral - I'm hoping the red will intensify under my lighting.

This particular anemone is not known to bubble it's tenticles - which make me think it's a true rose anemone, and not a bubble tip - E. Quadricolor (if that's possible - or if there is such a thing) I've seen the two kinds multiple times and there definately seems to be different types of RBTA's -

I know, this thread is worthless without pics :D

MTM - i got rid of the shadow i nthe middle of my tank, and i didn't even have to cut the brace out - just turned the reflector 90 degrees, so the bulb is parralel to the brace and directly above it - since i have a parabolic reflector it reflects the light "arouond" the brace.

and as an added bonus i don't have a big dark spot on one side of the tank and i'm not wasting as much light out the back of the canopy :)

and, as it turns out, i'm not blinded as badly wen i open the canpy looking at the end of the bulb than the side of it.

the real fix to teh shadow would be two bulbs though 'eh? ;)
