That looks like one huge nem in the middle of the pic, is it attached to the rock or the tank bottom?

Probably 14+". Its foot is attached in the rock. Pretty much what Mertens do.

What params do you have these guys under? My big mertans won't sit still he's got a 400w metal halide above him and a slow to medium current but he won't find a spot. This is my first mertans and I can't find anything online:/

i can hit my mertens with some pretty intense flow and it stays put. i think the crucial part is providing a rock structure that allows it to hide its foot deep inside. my mertens is currently perched on top of a rock shaped like a doughnut, with its foot deep down in the middle allowing it to retract inside if needed.

Mine is under a Orphek Dif100 which is about the intensity of 400 wat MH. Think the rock
Structure is probably the key - flow about medium. He moves around some but stays pretty put in that area.

Okay so they do hide there foot, I wasn't sure. I can never get any good pictures on how they like to attach there foot I will try to make that for him. Thank you for the advice! I currently have another one in cipro that I can try to settle soon too.
